AJISAI IN AUTUMN
Ajisai (hydrangea) supposed to be a icon of rain season, JUNE. Normally Famous spots for Ajisai in Kamakura are AJISAI DERA (Meigetsu In) or Hase Dera.
However, June is not only the season. Now in the September is another season, which I found in ZUISENJI temple.
Technically speaking, AJISAI in June and Ajisai in Autumn is a different species. What blow in Autumn is "TAMA-AJISAI".
"TAMA" stands for a ball. See the how it looks, the bud shape like a ball.
You can also see TAMA AJISAI in other temple as well. My another recoomendation is KAKUON JI Temple. There is a guided tour every hour on the hour. Guide is a master monk and you should be able to see inside of the temple with beautiful garden.
